Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) is a 501(c)(3) organization that protects and empowers immigrant survivors of crime and persecution, including asylum-seekers and immigrant survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual abuse.

Our staff attorneys, paralegals, and navigators provide direct service to our clients while also building a volunteer force of attorneys, whom we recruit, train, and mentor. Through direct representation as well as our pro bono program which multiplies our impact, GAIN assists over 1,000 clients and family members each year.

Job Description

Georgia Asylum & Immigration Network (GAIN), a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect and empower immigrant survivors of crime and persecution, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to spearhead GAIN’s fundraising efforts. The Director of Development oversees a complex annual fundraising plan raising $2.2 million annually, including private foundation and federal grants, special events, corporate and organizational giving, and a growing individual giving program. This role works closely with GAIN’s Executive Director and Board of Directors to extend and strengthen funding networks while also guiding the organization’s brand and communications strategy. Successful candidates will demonstrate the skills necessary to motivate giving and involvement, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and guide growth strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Develop and guide implementation of fundraising strategies to ensure annual fundraising goals and long-term growth.  The organization’s current fundraising target is approximately $2M.

·         Create and manage the annual resource development plan, consistent with the organization’s strategic plan.

·         Continue GAIN’s trajectory of diversifying organizational funding and growing non-federal sources to maintain a funding mix that achieves the goals set forth in GAIN’s strategic plan.

·         Serve as a member of GAIN’s senior leadership team; collaborate with Executive Director and other Directors to inform and implement organizational strategies for success.

·         Utilize moves management approach as well as stewardship and recognition practices to invest in the growth of unrestricted revenue streams, particularly through GAIN’s individual giving program.

·         Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and qualify prospective donors for major giving and the Guardian Circle giving society; personally manage strategies and timelines to steward existing major giving and Guardian Circle donors.

·         Coordinate, plan and execute GAIN’s annual fundraising event in close collaboration with board, staff and event planner.

·         Work closely with GAIN’s Executive Director and Finance team to collaborate on annual and grant-related budget planning.

·         Serve as the liaison for 1-2 standing committees and/or task forces for the GAIN Board of Directors; leverage Board resources and connections to support GAIN’s long-term goals.

·         Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance, with regular reporting and benchmarks to guide progress.

·         Manage Development team (currently 2 FTEs) in the attainment of all Development goals.

·         Oversee organizational communications efforts, including brand and PR strategies, and collaborate with GAIN’s communications consultant to ensure implementation.

·         Ensure compliance with all legal fundraising requirements and best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000, based on background and experience.  Comprehensive benefits include: 8 US holidays; 10-30 days paid time off, based on tenure; fully-paid medical insurance for employees (dental insurance optional); 403(b) retirement savings plan; Employee Assistance Program; mileage reimbursement, and more.

Preferred Experience

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Extensive knowledge of nonprofit fundraising strategies; CFRE helpful but not required.

·         Ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects and budgets.

·         Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting individuals, as well as institutional donors such as foundations, corporations, and/or government funders.

·         Major gift experience and/or capital campaign experience desired.

·         Event management experience a plus.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Cultural curiosity and a commitment to equity in both workforce management and community impact.

·         5+ years’ experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, including staff and volunteer management experience.

·         Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.

·         Experience with SalesForce NPSP software not required but a plus.
